    Artist History
The Ayatollah has no recollection of his life before January 1992, when Birgitte and Ludwig (aka Fußgängerzone) discovered him while in a drug-induced coma on the doorstep of Ludwig's apartment in Germany. They took him in and rehabilitated Rock 'n' Rollah, thus creating this great icon we see today. By the June of that year, The Ayatollah first discovered his unholy musical talent with the recording of 'Delilah' in Ludwig's German studio. In the early part of 1993, Birgitte and Ludwig recruited their surrogate friend as their minder and fixer after he displayed such a wide range of military and martial arts skills, with a hint of controlled aggression. In 1996, while on Fußgängerzone's "Fuzzbox Wah" tour, he became nearly as famous as the band themselves. It was on this World tour, when in Lithuania, that Rock 'n' Rollah's life changed forever whilst escorting two young ladies from Birgitte's dressing room, when an old Shaolin Monk handed him a tape of a track which The Ayatollah had himself originally recorded in 1991! This was the first evidence of his life before January 15th, 1992. Six months later, after being remixed, the song 'Blood '97' was released on Frostbyte Records (which closely proceeded the highly acclaimed six track 'The Return Of The Saint' EP). Since then, 'The Return Of The Saint' has been remastered and released as an album (including the version of 'Blood' featured on this website). The two occasional co-writers of The Ayatollah's material were tragically killed in a drink-drive incident on Christmas Day, 1999, so this site is dedicated to them both, with '...Suicide' and 'Blood' standing as their legacy. The Ayatollah has currently gone to ground after moving from his hometown of Portsmouth to Sutton in Surrey (due to his full time job as Fußgängerzone's minder). He is allegedly writing (but not yet recording) new material.
