Artist History
Heyday was formed in August, 1995. Band members Troy Alexander (drums), Rick Henley (lead guitar), Wes Schuck (bass), and Karl Sundquist (vocals/acoustic guitar) combine their diverse musical backgrounds to create an eclectic, modern rock sound.Their original songs provide meaningful lyrics, an upbeat tempo and intricate guitar themes. Minnesota natives themselves, Heyday has opened for Minneapolis bands such as the Blue Up?, The Billys, The Found, Holiday Ranch, Ipso Facto, Mango Jam, The Delilahs and Tim Mahoney and the Meenies.Heyday's debut album, Created To Be, was released on True Records in April, 1996. Over 500 copies of Created To Be were sold within one month of release.Heyday's second release, From The Hill, was recorded in Studio A at OarFin Records, Minneapolis, MN. Working with Heyday on this CD was experienced performer and producer Joel Richman, formerly of Tina and the B-Side Movement. Joining him was OarFin's chief engineer, David Streeby, whose session credits include Johnny Lang and Sheryl Crow. From The Hill was released in March of 1997.In 1999, after nearly 5 years together, Heyday called it quits. The band continues to sell briskly through retailers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. |
