Artist description Dubmudtree is a 'band' formed by a couple of friends who love reggae and dubwise to the maximum. Since 1994 we performed under the names 'Irie Vibes' and 'Spirit Us'. Irie Vibes began with 4 members and eventually Spirit Us performed with ten members. But unfortuanatly I and some othes found it too difficult too make too much comprimise in the music. And also because performing takes a lot of time we didn't have, we quitted with the band. Some of the members are still practicing to perform with another reggaeband.Since I began performing in bands I also made music on the computer. It has always been hard to explain the fun of making computermusic to my friends. But now, with the evolution of computermusic over the last 2/3 years, even some of my fellow members of 'Spirit Us' see, and mostly hear, the advantage. So now I still make music, sometimes assisted by other vocalists or players of instruments. So Dubmudtree is not a real band, but a collective of people who share the vibes of reggae. The music is recorded in my homestudio. I use a computer to record music and add some effects to it. When a song is finished, I mix it to a dubversion on a four track mixingdenk. Because I think echo should sound in a certain way, I preffer mixing echo's by hand. The instrument I use the most is melodica. It's a cheap instrument, but the sound still is unreal. Also I use a Fender Rhodes Mark 1. You probably know the sound of this electric piano from hiphop and maybe fusion jazz. The sound of the Fender Rhodes is magnifencent, but mine (from 1973) is a bit handicapped. That's why I don't use it too much.I hope you enjoy our music. Please send us a reaction.
