Artist description
My two cents… Dance Like David was formed in 1997 by those longhaired guys on the back row. You know, the ones that your pastor likes to use as an example, without naming names. The guys that you think are less sanctified because we look like we are still struggling with sin issues. That’s because we are. That’s right, no fig leaf here. But the hand is to the plow and there is no sense in looking back now, is there? We have had many differences even within ourselves. But we are of one accord in this. That Jesus is the son of God and he is the only way to salvation. And that the gifts that God has freely given us are for the benefit of the body of Christ. Whether they think so or not. I know that we are a little rough around the edges. But just consider us as a bone that you can throw to the dogs. Scraps that fall from the master’s table. We don’t mind, really. We’ve been chewed on by some of the best. Who knows, maybe it’ll give ‘em a nice shiny coat. So burn some disks and hand them out to those people that you wouldn’t normally see in church. You don’t have to touch them if you don’t want to. Just wear gloves. Besides it all comes out in the wash. But if you want to be real effective maybe you should genuinely love them. Or give it your best shot anyway. After all, Jesus didn’t hose you down before he touched you, did he? Man, he’s cool. Well, enough of these endless geneologies. Talk to God like your life depends on it. Believe me, it does. |
