Artist description
Chevron are a five piece Preston pop combo, they combine the bluster of early 'The Who', the syncopated funk of 'Superstition' era Steve Wonder, with the musical exploration of Edgar Winter and Sparks. To make a raw groove laden, yet intelligent Pop/Rock blend.Theirs isn't music for three chord 'indie children' and neither for onanistic muso snobs. No, Chevron make music that everyone can understand and dig.Listing influences seems pointless when it comes to Chevron, they take what they likefrom just about any genre and make it fit into their own mongrel sound, thustheir self inspired pigeon hole:Music for Mongrels or Roadkill Melodies.Chevron have been playing around the North West for some time and not oncehave they failed to win the crowd. Therefore they eschew the 'Playing only in the right places' approachand take their music to everyone by playing anywhere and everywhere. If 'the right places' is what you're after when then they've also playedManchester - Roadhouse, Band on the Wall, Night & Day Cafe,Camden Dublin Castle, Laurel Tree, supported 'CAST' at thebeginning of their last tour, Liverpool Lomax (where they were nearly kneecappedby the local gangsters for allegedly putting posters where they oughtn't (not true). To put it simply - you have to see and hear Chevron to knowwhy they are quite simply invincible. Don't take my word for it.Check them out for yourself. |
