Artist History Born on September Sixth Nineteen Sixty Two, Charles, the eldest son and second eldest of four siblings got his start at music like a lot of kids, in School Band. In grade seven Charles started playing the Trombone for a year then switched to Tuba for the next five years after discovering that for some reason you never had to pay rent on a Tuba. During this time he also received his first guitar from his Hobo Grandfather who told Charles that if he could learn how to play it, he would never be hungry. Charles did learn how to play the guitar but never put all of his eggs in one basket. At the age of fifteen he started running commercial fishing boats, and from time to time, broadcasting himself over the VHF radio. At a young age Charles discovered he had a natural talent for business and developed his own unsinkable, winning attitude .At the age of twenty four he became a certified electrician ,a field which he continues today becoming one of the top electricians in BC .All the while Charles writes songs profusely about his life experiences ,family and friends and sometimes various pieces of equipment he has owned and operated . His main musical influences are people like Johnny Cash , Hank Williams ,Hank Snow ,Wilf Carter ,Stomping Tom and Waylon and Willie ,with a little AC/DC ,Aero Smith and Led Zeppelin thrown in for good measure . This meat and potatoes approach brings an interesting and eclectic blend of tunes to the stage .Charles continues to grow in knowledge of life and business ,having five kids ,four with his partner Debbie and Turning his music room into one of the best recording studios (Mount Benson Music) on Vancouver Island for spare time pleasure when he's not working for Houle Electric or playing the local circuit and jam sessions.
