Artist description
Black Audial Morbidity - performed as a tribute to what was and still is the most inhuman and depraved formof music/ideology ever brought to life, namely thecursed Black/Death Metal movement. A movement thatnever will be accepted by the wide audience and "normal"people, due to it's role as propaganda against them.Therefor is this music condemned to be underground, for it is there, in the rotten and perverted abyss, that the true Black/Death Metal lunatics dwells. And it is for them, the morbid followers of the cult, that we perform our praisings and curses. |

Press Reviews
Watain - "Rabid Death's Curse"(Drakkar Productions) How about some violence!? In the vein of Marduk, mixed with all the best sides of old Mayhem atmosphere, WATAIN brings us a dose of asskicking black metal that rips most of the other stuff out there. Watain are about to become something, I can smell it from a thousand miles. This is what people want nowadays, when everything else sounds like pure crap. For those who have heard the previously released 7-inch, you can basically expect the same stuff, they've also included one of the songs from that release. However, I might stick my butt out, saying that this is something more, in all senses. Still a steady mixture of bonecrushing blast beats and slower, more ambient parts, you can hear that the band has progressed quite a bit since the 7". They seem to have put a little bit more effort in making riffs, and the structure of the songs has been improved, so that a better flow has emerged. Furthermore, vocals are still varied between Chris Barnes and Maniac, which lifts the overall impression even more. Riffwise we hear, as I said earlier, influences of Mayhem, to some extent also Marduk, a dose of Immortal and Dissection and so on. Could probably name a few more bands, but what's the point.Basically, what I'm saying is that whatever you prefer in the Black Metal genre, you could find something of interest in this album. You have a little bit of everything sort of, and this will hopefully gain the band quite a bit!I don't know exactly when this album will be out, it was actually mixed only yesterday, so it'll be a while before you people will be able to get hold of it, but when it's out, go get it! Released by a rather small French label called Drakkar Productions (not to be confused with the Drakkar who has released stuff with Sodom, Kreator, Angelwitch etc.), perhaps the distribution could be better, but we'll see of course, I might be totally wrong. To conclude this review, I order you to buy this record! If you choose not to, please take the first door to the left, the one that says "SUCKER"... (KRIG WEBZINE) |
