Artist History The band began in 1998 as The Billy Matheny Band and with the addition of Mike McCleary on guitar in January 1999 became The Misfit Toys. The Misfit Toys play in various clubs in North Central West Virginia in and around the West Virginia University city of Morgantown. The band's original compostions consist mainly of songs written by 15 year old Billy Matheny, who began playing guitar 3 days before he was born. Billy made a video for Nickelodeon when he was 10 and released a solo album "I'm Not Kidding" in 1997. The remainder of the band consists of older veteran musicians. (We've been jokingly referred to as "4 Geezers and A Kid")
