Artist History
Inprism did not have a glorious beginning, you know, the one where four guys get together and jam for five minutes and then release a major hit record the next year. No, Inprism started out in July of 1998 with a few guitarists, John Moore, Randy Dowden, and Jason Golden, in Garland, Texas. Jeremy Gilbert joined in with keyboards a little later, and the little band was born. Unfortunately, few songs were ever worked on, and due to personal circumstances in a few of the members' lives, the band disintegrated before it really got started.About six months later, Jason Golden and Jeremy Gilbert tried to form a band but it too fell through. But, as they say, third time's a charm.Randy, who had been living a couple hundred miles away after the original breakup, moved back to Garland and got together with Jeremy and mutually felt that the band could still live, with the right people. They jammed off and on, and named the band Ryderr (and subsequently, from joking about that name, The Moving Company"), but things didn't start moving till both guys (and Randy's wife and two daughters), packed up and left Texas to go to Pensacola, Florida. (Randy's reason for Florida was that "Our drummer will be in Florida, watch.").Once situated in Pensacola, Randy's little prophecy came true: Their drummer was here. Drummer Jerod Durbin had been in another band previously but it broke up due to disagreements within the band. Jerod joined the two guys and decided to rename the band Third World. But it was discovered (to Jeremy's chagrin) that that name was already taken, so the band was called Inprism. Which probably means something but they don't know what yet. |
