Artist description
Skewed surreal poetry rapped or ranted over a retro-futurist genre-splice. Angelic vocals float above while skuzzy funky guitars fight it out with dub, hip-hop and chemical beats. Its evocative, cinematic and above all, melodic. It’s pop music with a brain, dance music for people who don’t like dance music. In three words: intelligent, melodic electronica. |

Artist History
In the three years of their existence radium88 have played live all over the UK and also spread the word in Spain, Holland and Belgium. In Manchester we appeared on the Radio1 Roadshow as part of Music Live. We've recorded tracks with well known producer Steve Levine and had songs featured on the radio and various compilations CD's. Occasionally, in suitable venues we do spectacular multi-media shows featuring video projections. For this we utilised the unique talents of Heroes of Film, cult sci-fi programme makers for whom we have also supplied original music. Clare Wilson plays violin live with us sometimes and her string arrangements and playing are becoming an increasingly important part of the recorded sound.. |

Press Reviews
"cosmic collage...hooky samples with infectious injections of mechanised beat, radium88 cut and paste their way through the white noise of the 21st Century. This music is confident, dubby, fast, inventive, energetic, messy and crying out for space. "The Vine" This is what The Shamen could sound like if only they had the guts. It's Screamadelica but with a much higher dose of imagination. "Personality Crisis" ...draws from artists as diverse as Chumbawamba and the B52s or The Sugarcubes and Back To The Planet - electronic prankster pop with political undertones and a dark underbelly concealed by a viciously surreal humour.
