Artist History Terry Thompkins started producing music for River Crossing in 1997. After reading about mp3.com on the front page of the Wall Street Journal for a year, the artists decided to join the fun. Within weeks RC had over a thousand downloads across the US and was included in a "Best of Mp3" compilation CD in Asia. Encouraged by the broad audience, the other bands were invited into the fray. To date, we have 7 #1 songs on the mp3.com charts, and have broadened our horizon to include other sites like Francemp3.com, JLuna2000.com (Brazil), CDbaby.com, Amp3.com, and IUMA. Royalties generated from downloads and CD sales (including 5 Top 10 selling CD's on mp3.com) are reinvested into studio time for ongoing projects. We've been invited to be a part of several compilations and to score movies (thanks again, Felix Pire). Mad Beacon Records is a testament to the independent artist movement.
