Artist History
iCK00 has been involved in noise creation and sound manipulation since the age of 14, playing along with other Briokids artists (such as Virus B-23 and AtMaViDdHa) in the pre-electronic noise collective known as W~GAS. Since his discovery of the convenience and control in making electronic music, sometime around 98-99, iCK00 has released 2 solo albums (BRI003 the Gentle Balls of iCK00/BRI008 iCK00's Fufu's From Da Bulu) and has released tracks on BRI004 BrioSiteTaskForce Remediation Project: Dixie Farm Rd. & BRI005 the Ricki Lake is a KUNT e.p. also featuring Virus B-23/Texas Noise Factory/Mystical William Steelsum. The entire Briokids crew is currently residing in Houston and playing random shows about the Houston area...usual suspects are Virus B-23, iCK00 and TV cutups by Nickycool...

Press Reviews
"iCK00's set was a splattered mix of breakcore and comedy/novelty records plus some noiseprovided by an old casio sk-1 sampler and a couple of fx pedals. This kid is awesome, what can i say? He flips back and forth between distortedbreakbeats and cut-up bursts of rhythmic noise with side trips through fucked up "funny" records. And he's got stage charisma to spare, singing along to a cookiemonster record or dancing to some sped up middle eastern tune. Unfortunately iCK00's audience dwindled down to nothing but the Briokidscrew plus me and Brent in no time. Eventually, it just became time for us to leave-so we said our goodbyes and headed back to Houston. There was a cop walking in as we were leaving. Maybe we missed the real fun?" Carlos Pozo
"If iCKOO hadn't stepped in and put the fire out my entire family would be dead, victims to a terrible tragedy...- papa zero
"Ickoo's fantastic "Going 40mph Down The Freeway," as its title suggests, imagines a slow-motion, stoned trip down a concrete blacktop, pumping a sluggish, dubbed-out beat through a fogged-up windshield. "GAG on This," also from Ickoo, is a spastic mix of violent, ever-channging drum patterns and unitelligible, sampled screams."---Carlos M. Pozo / Grooves Magazine issue 6 |
