    Denny Carleton currently play solo acoustic guitar, but has a eclectic background.The music, should almost be classified as unplugged rock.Denny played in bands in the 1960s, spent time in a punk band and delved into experimental electronic music. The songs and style vary widely, as diverse as The Beatles White Albulm.One cut is acoustic, the next electronic.Dennys' lyrics range from allegory,to social consciousness to satire.

    Dennys' career started in 1965 with his high school band The Lost Souls After the Lost Souls disbanded Dennis was asked to join The Choir who had gone through some personnel changes and was looking to regroup after their national hit It's Cold Outside(# 57 U.S. billboard 1967) A day after the Choir broke up Dennis was asked to join Moses a rock theatrical band that played in the metro Cleveland and Pittsburgh areas.Moses opened for such acts as Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, MC5 and Ted Nugent.In the 1970s Denny played in the avante garde band Milk,and also other bands opening for Piere Ubu, The Dead Boys, The Rubber City Rebels,and Devo.After Denny then decided to go in a different direction; publishing his own music, on his own label. Between 1983 and 1990, Denny released 9 solo cassettes and established himself as a well known home taper in the Alternative underground music scene, and was reviewed in Option magazine 11 times.Richie Unterberger of Option voted his avante garde release Color With Crayons No 1 for 1985.His music was played on over 300 College and Public Radio stations,(including WFMU in New Jersey) in the US. and Canada. College radio stations in Toronto(CKLN) and Cincinatti, both did hour specials on Dennis’s music.In 1989 Denny married Theresa Galish. They played in bands for awhile, but found their niche as a folk duet in area coffee shops, libraries, churches and bookstores. The Carletons played Dennys' originals, and progressive folk music in the tradition of Austin City Limits. They have played on the same bill as country artists Radney Foster, Leroy Parnell and Steve Wariner. The duo have two tapes released in 1995 and 1996, and played regionally,before going there separate ways in 1997. Denny continues to write and as a solo performer, does acoustic versions of his many songs. Denny records at his home studio and host his own radio show on www.WELW.com (Fridays 6:30-710 est) playing local music,where he performs and interviews Northeastern Ohio musicians.
