    Artist History
For over a decade, Bilian Frost (a.k.a. DJ B1L14N), has been injecting the New York underground with the best of industrial, electro and darkwave music. Bilian's DJ and musical talents have been featured at several of New York's best underground venues including: CBGB's Gallery, Pyramid, Detour, Nostradamus, Smashlight, Screw (hosted by Bilian himself), Mesh, and Voodoo to name a few. Along with his many DJ gigs, Bilian has also created a history of musical projects such as fronting the influential torture-tech band Christ Cage and experimenting with the avant garde Eyebol, as well as the current breakthrough Carved Insane and Nomenclature projects, and is widely known for his dynamically creative stage presence and aggressive expression. Starting ten years of rock and jazz drumming lessons at the young age of five, Bilian eventually moved on to melodic instruments and additional training in voice and experimental recording techniques. His diverse musical influences ranging from Skinny Puppy to Peter Gabriel explain his strong focus on musical architecture and the raw expression in his music. Bilian is currently involved with the promotion of Carved Insane's debut CD 'Pain Junkie' and Nomenclature's debut CD 'Storms In Time', as well as the continued production of several future releases for both projects.

    Press Reviews
"DJ Bilian made a name for himself on Long Island as an industrial DJ. Now he has released a new project called Carved Insane...'Pain Junkie' is a good first offering...it is very impressive. Well-produced and professional sounding, 'Pain Junkie' could easily be a label release...the songs are aggressive, yet danceable...a powerful CD with very good songs."--- Ed Johnson (The Inside Connection, January 2000)------------------------------------------------------------------------------"Slicing through the New York Underground Industrial Hardcore scene is the latest revolutionary project Carved Insane. Created by the twisted vision of Bilian, musician and producer, Carved Insane offers any open mind an audio phantasm of intricate music, rhythm and noise. As the listless voices of mechanized suburban teachers echoed off the desolate class room walls, a mind was giving birth to a pandemonium of thoughts which would ultimately transpire into Pain Junkie. The first demo album developed and cut from the primarily exclusive project Carved Insane, Pain Junkie prescribes a mainline of tracks for the hardened intellectual. Each track touches a chord of the psyche, coming to terms with detachment from an often bitter and contemptuous society through maturity and endurance. The aggressively gripping lyrics are an inspiring outlet for the creative idealistic innocents of youth breaking free of the often slave-state restraints which attempt to hinder the pure at heart. Each line builds to the uprising of a new humanity, an altered morality with a sincere devotion to the passions of the subliminal self and alter ego.Producer and musician, Bilian (formally of the mid-decade Underground project Christ Cage) relays a montage of personal pain and experience with venomous expression through electronic beats and programming. The spinal structure of Pain Junkie maintains the fervent energy of its inspiration with multiple climaxes and dynamic rhythm from beginning to end. Satiating the most tormented of minds with concentrated aggression, the tracks create an audacious release from disillusion, paranoia, rejection and individual constraint. The erupting bass beats allow for slamming danceablity and its neoteric composure is distinguishably unique. The audio pilgrimage of Carved Insane begins with Pain Junkie, creating the entrance to a nightmarish labyrinth of alluring tragedy and conquest. The album’s point-blank sincerity and infectious seduction guides the individual into a speculum of self-realization towards the profound birth of a millennium. From here the battle is a matter of individual self preservation which inspires credence for the future. Left blinded from the cybernetic distractions of a capitalist society, the self has no option but to face that which it can primarily trust…the human instinct. Pain Junkie takes us to the core of the battle and leaves us with the inspiration to overcome our own personal discord. Where the quest leaves Bilian can only be answered in the next Carved Insane production."--- Kellene Catron (Steel Kitten Imagery)
