Artist description
A technologically-enhanced one-man, one-machine comedy duo. The live show features Skaterman (John McNulty, 28) on guitar and vocals, backed by pre-recorded bass guitar, backing vocals, and drum tracks. The Box of Death is a plywood box with a jack-o-lantern style face that lights up, or "sings" with the background vocal tracks. The live show also includes skits involving headless lip-synching Barbie dolls, bits of stand-up comedy, and staged fights between Skaterman and his sidekick the Box.In the studio, Skaterman played all of the instruments while the Box of Death took many cigarette breaks and didn't accomplish anything. |
