Artist History
Recorded in Frankfurt, Germany at Hotline Studios. Simon Tedd had been gigging around London with a band called Simon Tedd and the Adventures in the late 70's. A single "Let's Talk" was recorded at the Glitter Band's studios, and was scheduled for release in early 1980 when Wolfgang Auer from Hotline/X Records who was in London with chief engineer Nigel Jopson, an old friend of Tedd's, suggested re-mixing the track at Hotline. Wolfgang heard the other demos over a cup of coffee, and invited Tedd to Frankfurt to make an album. They drove to Germany that very evening and Simon spent the next three months in Hotline Studios. "Let's Talk" was eventually released to on Cliff Cooper's (Of John Miles and Orange Amplification fame)AMI Records. When the Album was completed the relationship with Wolgang soured - he remixed the album with a different engineer - Simon hated the mixes. It was released early 1981 on X Records, through Teldec in Germany only. The versions available here are the original Tedd/Jopson mixes, far superior to those released. Two tracks from the original mixes were released in the UK in 1982 on Tedd's own label China Disques Noir under the artist name of Tango Echo Delta Delta. These singles were "China" c/w "Astral Suicide" & "Lately" c/w "Those in Peril". These limited distribution independent singles generated a fair amount of airplay nationwide, notably on London's Capital Radio where "Lately" became a late and middle of the night favourite. Simon Tedd changed his name to Scardanelli in 1991, but not before releasing other records under his birth name Tedd - notably The Boomerang Gang, and Big Ba |

Group Members
Simon Tedd played guitars, keyboards and sang, & wrote all the songs. Robbie Romp played bass. Steve Phypers played drums. Tony Carey (Richie Blackmore's Rainbow, Planet P) added some extra keyboard wizardry. Someone played sax, someone else sang some BVs. Someone called Christian helped me score the orchestral parts for "Lately", and conducted the Frankfurt Philharmonic. If you know who these people are e mail for credit! A very special thanks to Nigel Jopson who engineered and co-produced this album and without whom the entire production would not have been possibl |
