Artist description
Mohave is a five-piece Southwestern Americana ensemble with an unusual lead instrument. The Appalachian mountain dulcimer lends a sometimes sweet, sometimes distorted mysticism to songs that tell vivid stories about hot sauce, hot days, drinking, driving, loving, leaving, and living in America. Elements of bluegrass, jazz, Tex-Mex, folk, work chants, slave spirituals and Native American styles combine together in a unique sound, a backdrop for the many tales of the desert. |

Artist History
Mohave formed in August of 1999 and played their first gig at the Downtown Disney House Of Blues after only one rehearsal. Since then, the band has performed there numerous times along with fan-inspiring shows at a variety of clubs in the central Florida region. In a short period of time, the group has made a name for itself by delivering highly entertaining shows filled with humor, power and unpredictable showmanship. Taking their cue from the great balladeers of yesteryear, Mohave loves to tell a story that'll stick in your head for generations. Nominated for best "World" band - 2000 Orlando Music Awards! |

Press Reviews
"Mohave is the fondue of bands. Like an eternal melting pot of ideas spiced with zest and a little Heinz 57, the band's a little-bit-of-everything style blends color, texture and flavor wrapped in familiar swirls of honest Americana. ---- Gina Trifiletti - Connections Magazine 6/00 ||||||| "The dulcimer-driven Mohave is Tabasco sauce set to music. In the span of one year, the quartet has built an increasing following around humorous storytelling, flamboyant showmanship and a curiosity surrounding the main instrument." - - Christina Marcet - Orlando Weekly 10/12/00 |
