Artist History
Drop D formed in 1998 after founding members
C.A.J. (Johnny Boettcher), and Mr. C (Mike Carson)
mended their styles to create a raw, new sound that
brought together the raw styles of Hip-Hop, and
The raw power of Metal.
After one year of jamming out and establishing
a fan base, Drop D added new members
Trix (Jeremy Marquardt), and E (Erik Grunow)
to complete two other elements of the sound;
Grinding, in your face guitar, and Fierce,
yet subtle vocals that complete a vocal sound that tears
right through the mix to invade your head.
The final missing element to the envisioned
Drop D sound was Grinding, Hit you in the
face bass guitar. This was completed a few
months later with the addition of Kotz (Mike Kotzian).
After two years of honing their skills on the stage,
and doing A lot of research on what it takes to
go all the way, Drop D prove themselves to every
venue they play at.
With the hard work and dedication Drop D have
put forth, Drop D is becoming a household word in Detroit.
They have amassed a sizable fan base of some of the most
dedicated fans a band could get. The number of fans
into Drop D seems to multiply every show, but that's because
of the shirt's they are wearing.
