Artist History Bruce has a very diverse musical background that began many years before he started his formal music training on the trumpet in 5th grade. An electronic enthusiast at heart, and at an extremely early age, Bruce was drawn to 'musique concrete' (experimental music created with recording devices) and music created on synthesizers by Wendy Carlos, Isao Tomita, Mort Garson, Stan Free and other 70's era synthesists. With a formal music education under his belt seven years later, he switched successfully to the clavier, and then soon after to guitar. After extensive study at the University of California at Irvine, Bruce received an Electronic Music Composition degree, then began working with many local and regional bands of various genres as a sideman, frontman and recording producer. Bruce applies his experience with computers and synthesis to composing mostly instrumental music, the result of which is heavily featured in his performances and recordings. Press Reviews Does Orange County have it's own Yanni? The jury's out on this one, but Bruce Geller could be a contender for the spot. He's got an interesting sound going on here, calm and soothing tunes, fluid piano work by Geller and jazzy improv Flute provided by Viktor Wise. Five tracks, all are worth listening to. First Track "All That I Needed" has a blended taste of Spyro-Gyra and Santana, while the last track "Quiet Storm" is dark and moody, orchestrally rich and sensuous. Geller is also part of a new-age band called AKIBA that performs often in Southern California. Overall, the "Quiet Storm" album rates high, definitely one to add to the CD carousel.
