Artist description
Tub Ring riddles the ears with a refreshingly erratic style by bringing together the smirk and sensibilities of punk, the intellectualism of experimental rock, an intinsic pop awareness and philosophically challenging sci-fi poetry. True postmodernists, Tub Rings nomadic musical senses fit them snugly in the company of norm-defying acts such as Frank Zappa, Beck, Radiohead, and Faith No More. Tub Ring is keyboard shards, mic-swallowing vocals and nervously odd grindcore guitars stomping all over a fast and intricate rhythm section to create a taut, controlled schizophrenia. |

Artist History
Tub Ring's last album, Drake Equation, was produced by Trey Spruance the guitarist/keyboardist for San Francisco's Mr. Bungle & Secret Chiefs Three. "Trey's influence is felt all over this album, and we couldn't be happier with the amount of Mongolian food we ate." says keyboardist Rob Kliener. Fermi Paradox (Oct 02), their latest recording, takes over where Drake Equation left off. This time Tub Ring went into the studio armed with a slew of guest musicians creating a small orchestra to compliment each of the new tracks. In a given track one might find sitar, flute, violin, vibraphones, and a horn section. |

Press Reviews
"Its rare to find a band that are talented, eager and open minded, not too mention, able to cognitively blend starkly contrasting genres and vastly turbulent song structures into a single continuous thread of musical enlightenment" - The PRP.com "Sure, lots of underground bands attempt noisy stylistic collages at breakneck tempos. But few manage to inject as much melody as Tub Ring " -Jim Derogatis, Chicago Sun Times "Sardonic, Scientifically-produced symphonies."- The Verge Magazine "Keep those kids away from our beer!"- Pennywise |
