Artist description Antes que nada, gracias por estar aquí. Ombligo Vudú, más que una "banda" es un proyecto que a lo largo de su historia contará con la participación de varios musicos. Los tres ejes del proyecto son la honestidad, experimentación e improvización. Por el momento, el unico "musico" que aparece en las grabaciones que aquí se encuentran soy yo, Camilo. Todas se realizaron con una grabadora Tascam de 4 canales. Los errores y limitaciones son obvias. Sin embargo, estas grabaciones no son mas que un punto de partida. Un estallido de necesidad expresiva dentro de un desierto musical (México D.F.). México tiene varias distintas corrientes musicales. En ese sentido es muy rico. Pero cuando se trata de encontrar musicos con mentes abiertas dispuestos a fusionar elementos extranjeros y locales se encuentra uno rápidamente con una barrera mental inmovible. Los pocos musicos que sí estan dispuestos o ya tienen proyectos, o quieren dinero y simplemente no se encuentran. Claro, deberá decirse que 71 años de PRI tienen mucho que ver con las deficiencias culturales de Mexico. Es por eso que las grabaciones con calidad "profesional", no saldran hasta mediados del 2002. En dos años Ombligo Vudú empieza su travesía mundial, explorando los distintos países y continentes de este bello y variado mundo. Así que estén atentos. The only "musician", if i could really be considered that, featured in these recordings is me, Camilo. But this is due more to practical necesity than a desire. Mexico is rich in many different ways, but not in musicians willing to explore radical or simply new ideas. All songs were recorded with a 4-track tascam. The errors and limitations are obvious. But starting in late 2002, professional recordings will begin being released. So look for the first cd then. You will most likly be pleasently surprised. Artist History The "band" actually consists of one person, Camilo Montenegro, who's learned everything he knows from friends and strangers he's played and worked with over the past 6 years in Mexico city, and from all the records he's enjoyed since he can remember. For the time being, Ombligo Vudú has only a collection of three DEMOS that, begining in 2 years, will become profesionally made records. All the music presented here was made with only a 4-trk. analog recorder. The mistakes and limitations are obvious.
