Artist description
Mokijam is a Fusion band delivering a unique funk sound with strong influences from Jaco, Jeff Lorber, Steely Dan, and Maceo Parker. These five young men produce their unique styles on drums, bass, keys, guitar and saxes. Due to their great sense of commitment and responsibility, Mokijam has a wide range of experience in the music industry. The band has opened for such artists as Kenny Garrett, Jeff Lorber, Tower of Power, Marion Meadows, and Brian McKnight. The band has also released their first album entitled "Episodes" under the Horizon Music Group label and are currently working on their second release. Mokijam is a New Haven based band eager to expand their audience. They perform in Connecticut, New York City, and other locations in New England. |

Artist History
Mokijam formed in 1992 with the name "The Magic Band." "Magic" consistently wowed crowds in Connecticut throughout the 1990's. In 1997, the name of the band was changed to Mokijam. Mokijam quickly expanded their coverage to include several cities all over New England and New York. |
