Artist History
The Mercury Four, Seattle's newest, scorching hot, surf instrumentalrock band had long existed in the minds of the band's members. But not until 1998, did they become the full-fledged band they arenow. Guitarist Chip is a veteran of the Splashdowns, a surf band legendaryfor their melodies and velocity. Keyboard player Jim, drummer Marshall, andbassist Natalie, had routinely taken up residence in the Splashdowns fanbase. Jim came out of The Deep End, a surf trio admired by Chipand Natalie. The Deep End also played shows with Marshall's rockabillyband, the Creepers.Knowing each other and having similiar interests, it was no wonder theyeventually ended up in this supersonic incarnation of a surf project. Originally playing as 'The Earthlings', they eventually settled on the nameof the 'Mercury Four'. Flash forward to today, after a year of shows andendless practice sessions, the 'Mercury Four' blast off. Showing their sensefor the most reverb steeped surf tastes along with their desire to flat out rock, the M4leave the Jan and Dean oldies crowd back at dead mans curve. If you want surf, you're gonna get wet.You want to rock? hang on baby!Garage?!?Hey man pull out the ear plugs, you're standin' in it. |
