Artist description
Engineered Chaos blends the brutality of the heaviest thrash metal with the melodicism of less extreme music. Using open voiced chords, effects pedals, and countermelody, Engineered Chaos infuses jazz-like complexity into its brand of extreme metal. |

Artist History
Growing up together in Bakersfield, CA, the members of Engineered Chaos began playing together in high school jazz groups and weekend jam sessions. Beginning in 1997, the official band was born and the title "Engineered Chaos" was created. After writing songs and playing a multitude of gigs for two years, the band recorded their first self-released album "Chaos Theory" in June of 1999. Although its members are now scattered across the country at different universities, the band lives on and continues to play gigs and write new material whenever possible. New singer Joey Shevelson, hailing from Carmel, was added in Spring of 2000 and should add an important new dynamic to the band's sound. A second self-released album, titled "Unresolved," (with very different material) is planned for a winter of 2001 release. |
