Artist History
A native of Toro, Uganda, David immigrated to the US in 1986. In 1991 he formed his current band, Sifa! Sifa! Africa. He has performed throughout West Africa, East Africa, the US, UK, and the Caribbean. The band is currently planning a European tour for 2000/2001. His music has been played on Christian radio stations in Africa and the US, as well as on the BBC. From 1979 to 1990, he was the host of an hour-long music program on Nigerian TV. In 1993, David and the band performed at Mile High Stadium in Denver for Pope John Paul II. They have also played in Washington DC at a Presidential Prayer Breakfast. David is the founder and President of Christ Aid Inc., a Denver based humanitarian relief organization dedicated to the rehabilitation of AIDS orphans throughout the poverty stricken rural areas of Uganda and West Africa. This important work is largely supported by the proceeds from live performances and CD sales. |
