Artist History
Growing up on a farm outside of Moorhead, Minnesota is where Aldo (John Altenbernd) started learning the piano. At age fifteen Aldo became involved with his church by accompanying the choirs, which led to performing for friends and anyone who would listen. These experiences were the foundation for his passion and career in music. At Moorhead State University (MSU) in Moorhead, Minnesota, while attaining a degree in Music Industry, he continued to develop his musical talent. He conducted high school choirs at his church and wrote music for MSU’s Television Center, Theater Department, and a local television station. After graduating, he continued to write music for television in Fargo, North Dakota. One of Aldo’s more notable projects included writing the theme to the popular Prairie Public Television kids series, "Kid Zone." In 1993, he scored a 1-hour documentary about the history of Winnipeg, Canada; "Pyramids on the Prairie." Besides writing for PPTV in Fargo, Aldo continued to conduct choirs and work at a local dinner theater as a Music Director and Actor. In the fall of 1994, Aldo moved to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to be with friends, experience new adventures, and to continue what he does best. With the move, Aldo continues to strive to bring his own music production facility, Power Note Productions, into full bloom by supplying original music for television, corporate videos, multimedia CD-ROMs, and the Internet. Recent projects have included music for KLGT-TV in St. Paul and the completion of another 1-hour documentary commissioned by Prairie Public Television entitled "The Germans from Russia".In 1996 his debut CD, Treasures of the Soul, was released followed by Hunter of Dreams in September 1998. Aldo has recently finished his third CD, Unwrapped, his first holiday CD that was released in December 1999. You can also hear Aldo on the award winning CDs series; Acoustitherapy from Colorado Creative Music. The Acoustitherapy Series is a music therapy and relaxation project that contains music from artists all over the country that believe in the therapeutic and healing qualities of music. Aldo’s music can be heard on three volumes of the series; Relaxation, Regeneration, and Gentle Passion.Aldo has always had music as a focus in his life. Many of his treasured memories are reflected in the soulful passions of his music. Remembering dear friends and fun experiences has given Aldo the material to create many musical treasures. Aldo’s greatest wish is that he has charted a journey of discovery that will help you find and hold onto your cherished memories. |
