Artist History
Travis Brant has an extensive background in music performance, education and production. His diversity, skill and quality workmanship make Travis a highly sought after commodity. Listed below are a few of Travis' achievements in the education, performance and production industries. ACCOMPLISHMENTS:In 1993, Travis started teaching drums and percussion in the Indianapolis area. While he maintained a roster of 85 students per week, Travis was also becoming a well known session player. He played on everything from independent soundtracks to rockabilly and Christian compilations to local grunge rock records. In 1994, due to a hearing loss in his left ear, Travis became an Indiana artist affiliate for Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers. ' H.E.A.R ' is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the education of musicians and fans regarding repeated exposure to high noise levels. Travis has spoken on HEAR's behalf during private workshops for musicians, handi-cap children and larger events like Lollapalooza. In 1997, Travis opened Def Left Ear Productions as an outlet for his writing. Through DLE, Travis has produced CDs benefiting H.E.A.R. and The Children's Wish Foundation . He also produced four Indiana bands for a TV special which was nominated for a regional Emmy award in 1999. In 1999, Travis released his first full length CD ' Ride Ride The Sunrise ' on hisown Def Left Ear record label. This was a limited release to "test the waters" for future projects. In 2000, Travis released his most recent work, 'Fuzzy Biscuit.' The CD features Doug Henthorn who is the front man for Jason Bonhams new band, Healing Sixes. Traviswrote, produced and engineered the entire thing. He also played guitars, drums, sang leadand some backing vocals. Currently, 'Fuzzy Biscuit' is getting good reviews and airplayin the college market. Travis currently resides in Lafayette, Indiana where hecontinues to record, produce, educate and perform.
