Artist description
Aggressive music deriven from personal struggles and pain. My goal is to bring a new air of honesty to modern music, both in style, and message. If we can express our darkest aspects, then, and only then, can you truly begin to respect the light. |

My view is that Music, as with all Art, should be honest and sincere. It is my belief that all music enters into the musicians soul, and influences the creative process. |

Press Reviews
Christopher Petzel - MP Media (petzel@mpmedia.com): "The decision to 'etherialize' Jonathan's voice (that is, the 'growl' voice which I believe to be him) on Overwhelm was right on. His voice now has the perfect effects build on it. The whole package now works extremely well. I don't know how it could get better. You also take a good opportunity to showcase your voice on the "me..." at the end of the chorus on that song. I love your progression on that.
Again, the producing on Sacrifice is -- I don't know how to describe what I'm thinking. I'm sitting here trying to find a word for it and I can't. You appear to be an experienced seasoned producer but I know that you don't have 40 years experience! From listening to the rehearsal MP3 of this song you sent several months ago, I couldn't figure out a way to handle what I saw as a problem with the chorus of this song. You did it beyond what I could ever come up with. The harmonic transitions between choruii and the relax-build pattern at the end really varied the repetition of the chorus. You achieved your goal of repeating yourself to make a point (I assume) while creating an extremely listenable and varied aural experience. Bravo!
I just hope that hard disks don't wear out like cassettes used to - I've listened to these two songs at least 50 times this afternoon and evening. hehe.
Lyrically, the parallel of Jesus' crucifixion to Matthew Shepard's murder really is uncanny. I'm so glad that you told me about that. It's really something that a thinking individual can spend time pondering. I heard today on the radio a trend forecaster. This is not one who sticks his finger in the wind and follows the crowd but who has a track record of scientifically hypothesizing trends. They were talking about what the biggest trend is going to be in the near future. A caller to the show joined in and made the statement that until each individual changes and has no hatred in his heart that societies and cultures will never change. It's so true that we have an evil nature and are in need of salvation.
I always think of what became a punch line of the early 90's, "can't we all just get along?" That was, of course, Rodney King reacting to the riots in LA after the acquittal of the police officers who were charged with beating him. It was such a simple truth that it was ridiculed. It is so true. Whether we agree or disagree on issues it's such a simple truth, "can't we all just get along?" There would be no hate crime. There would be disagreement - but no hate.
Of course it won't happen. We have a sinful nature so here we are. It's just so sad that some people have to hate - for no good reason - enough to kill. But I guess it's our mission to bring the world to Christ. A scary task when the world is full of people like the killers of Matthew Shepard.
Anyway, I appreciate the experience you give when I listen to Sacrifice.
Anyway - glad to hear from you and glad to hear the new songs. I am eagerly awaiting the EPs on MP3.com."
