12" LP Explosion (Larsen, 2000): .. There's not much more to say than get this LP immediately (Trash Times #8); ... A must-have (Whole Lotta Shakin); ... The Waistcoats rule ... (Jamboree #23); ... Erstklassige Sixties-Scheibe (Banzai #7); ... categoria superior ... (Ruta 66)... Who (Kerosene #10); ... beat, surf and garage which you can't get enough of ... (Platomania);Beat party with the Waistcoats 10" (1999, Larsen) Vi piace il 'Beat'? Zitti, zitti, i tre olandesi stanno diventando uno dei gruppi di punta dell' eurobeat; bravi!!Bob Rock no 6 ================================ Valley of the mono-apes EP (1996)Take the Sonics, Lyres, Headcoats, Liverpool slop and throw in Toe Rag Studios and you've got a hellofa '45. This sucker rages. ================================ Surfisticated sounds of the Waistcoats (1997)Holland's own crank out more hip-shakers - yes there are surf instros but they blow so many others away, it's kind of kids loving Stove Top instead of potatoes: no contest. Blatant (and well done) Kinks ripoff "Too Kinky" reels you in, and the rest just keeps you there. The Waistcoats keep it fun with titles "Valley of the Mono-Apes", "Run Salman Run" and "Waistcoat Wipeout". Put this on at a party and get those slobs on the dance floor!Suzy - Trash Times #5================================ 14 tracks full of loud wailin' garage trashbeat, that will make you higgle & jive around like a frog! From the Netherlands come these three young men to celebrate their own "sophisticated maximumkinky surf trash"... and hell, it's so good! ... ... A winner! BUY!================================ No need to hurry 7" (1998)R & B from the continent! These gents hail from "le deuxieme pays du rythm & beat", Hollande. On the A side "No need to hurry", they pound the beat into your head. All the basics, Stones, Pretties, Outsiders et al are in the sound. It is at once primeval and dominating. Three chords are recorded in perfect tone for the composition. The flip has a fiery instro called "Little miss JAJ" that has pounding mono drums. The final track "Cheated & Lied" is a troggy/Medway/Childish sneering stomper. My R&B pick of the week.Rich - Trash Times #5================================ |
