Artist description
The music of Stick 'Em Up is a story of many
influences coming together to form one unique
sound. It is not reggae, it is not ska, it
is neither funk nor punk. But you will here
a little of all those in their music. The
rhythm and structure is distinctly
reminiscent of Jamaican Dance Hall Music,
while the guitars are funky with
pure rock overtones (that's more
Joey-Santiago-Pixies pure than say,
Eddie-Van-Halen-macho-rock).
Stick 'Em Up's front-man, Noah
Waggener, brings a pronounced
air of classic DC punk, giving
Stick 'Em Up the edge that
rounds out their individual style. |

Artist History
Stick 'Em Up formed in early 1997 when five guys,
dejected from being cut from the Backstreet Boys
try-outs, got together to play a little music of
their own. Since then they have enjoyed playing
with unwaxed chests in the Nags Head Area,
Charlottesville, Blacksburg, Harrisonburg,
Northern Virginia and good old
Washington, DC. Their music appears on
the recent Phonogram Compilation - which
features the crème-de-la-crème in DC,
Maryland and Virginia bands - and has
been solicited for surf and extreme
sports videos nationwide. |
