Bravo!!!" ******************************************************** RollingStone --- "A pop tune...,that's not afraid to be what it is, and it does the job well. Be on the lookout for this group." ******************************************************** Geoffrey Johnson --- "Literally thousands of people have heard and hundreds have reviewed the song Goodbye, but one thing remains, this will be a smash hit. Radio readiness and pure pop perfection make this a must have for any music collection. An unforgettable hook that will take you in on a path following Kara's endearing given voice, and with the inspiring production of Jon Wolfson, this is a song, that cannot and will not be topped even by commercial artists." ******************************************************** HotBands.com --- Kara has had international success as a songwriter having songs on charts in the USA, UK, and Sweeden, by various artists. She has also been praised for her vocal talent in Billboard Magazine. Jon Wolfson has scored soundtracks for films, and has had recording deals with MCA doing remakes of some classics. Lyrics that people can relate to, with a hook that makes them come back for more. ******************************************************** Iwill admit that Goodbye is cliche-ish, but its pop-music. Kara's voice can only be described as melodic, sensual, hypnotic as she beautifully calls out the oxymoronic words of saying "goodbye" as the rest of us say a resounding "hello" to Mad Doll. Somebody should create a new television show just for this group to create a theme song for. GET THESE TWO A CONTRACT!!! ******************************************************** Billboard Magazine --- New & Noteworthy~Alluring newcomer Mad Doll with a verve and sass that would make today's leading pop ingenues green with envy. The New York-based duo of Jon Wolfson and lead singer Kara brings a new depth and surprising sensuality to the Burt Bacharach/Hal David composition, as Kara coolly wraps her chops around a moody, up-to-the-minute instrumental backdrop reminiscent of William Orbit's recent work with Madonna. A touch of kettle drums, a dreamlike midsection breakdown, and, thankfully, recreation of the wonderful trumpet hook so prevalent in the original all give this record such a unique touch. And don't be fooled that Mad Doll's first single is a cover. Aside from "Walk On By" its other recorded material is filled with self-penned anthems proclaiming strength, know how, and independence in a wide variety of capable styles, from rock/pop and groove-filled R&B to straight-ahead pop. This is an act that understands where its strengths lie, which, given this marvelous entree, covers about every genre of the mainstream radio spectrum. Utterly mesmerizing. ******************************************************** Review us at http://www.riffage.com/Bands/0,2939,7871,00.html |
