Artist description
Jack Quigley bangs out his own brand of Acoustic Roots music. Jack's "Full Contact Folk Music" is a gumbo pot of styles, including: rock, blues, gospel, folk, country and bluegrass. This veteran guitarist has penned hundreds of songs that has spawned four independent recordings. In commemoration of his song "Dallastown," the Mayor and the people of Dallastown, Pennsylvania honored him with Jack Quigley Day on October 2nd. Quigley received a national award from Billboard Magazine, appeared on national television and toured across the U.S. performing at the Kennedy Center, concert halls, festivals, colleges, bars, clubs, churches and even a laundromat. He has shared stages with the likes of Joe Jackson, Eddie Money, The Jefferson Starship, The Neville Brothers, Carlene Carter, Joan Jett and Beausoleil, just to name a few. Jack also plays guitar for an old timey contra dance band, The Contra Rebels. He is a member and soloist with the gospel choir, We the People, sings in local Washington, D.C. churches and he is a bad Elvis impersonator. |

Press Reviews
"From the first basin blues growl to the last country yodel, Jack Quigley's NUCLEAR HOOTNENANNY celebrates that illusive enigma known as American Music. The recording's uniqueness lies in it's ability to travel the American Music landscape and hit nearly every point along the way...sometimes in the same song! From the heartfelt, down home tempos of "The Worst Part Of Leaving (Is Coming Back Again)" and "Family Reunion" to the eerie French Quarter rumblings of "(Smells Like) Voodoo", Quigley paints an honest relief map of the nations best and most innovative music. There's the spiritual uplift from "There's A Fire Spreading Through The Valley" and the satanic confessions of "Last Night The Tape Broke"...all on the same record. NUCLEAR HOOTENANNY sets the record straight: America's cultural diversity is alive and kickin' ass in the world of music. God Bless Jack Quigley. God Bless America."

"Quigley's range of influences from Cajun to Gospel are more obvious on this album; check out "(Smells Like) Voodoo," which suggests Ken Nordine covering Lou Reed. Quigley's growl could make Leon Redbone roll over and play dead, and his acoustic wizardry makes six strings sound like 12. Nuclear Hootenanny shows Quigley's a cinch for Most Likely to Succeed."

"…walks the same thematic ground as Randy Newman and John Prine, and like them he slides nimbly between intelligent humor and raw heartbreak."

"Jack Quigley is a folk musician for the New World Order. His lyrics combine the troubadour's passion for well-told lies with the autobiographer's obligation to speak the truth. His music… guaranteed to send all listeners on an influence hunt…brims with zeal."
- Michael Jarrett - PULSE! Tower Records

"Jack Quigley is a genial mix of folk and blues, sometimes evoking John Prine, sometimes James Taylor, sometimes Tom Waits."
