Artist description
The J. Harris Band is a group of five brothers and sisters all with first names beginning with the letter “J”, James, Jeff, Julie, Jerra, and Janine. The family began their musical journey in the mid 70’s as “The Four J’s” because Janine, the youngest, wasn’t in the band yet. When Janine joined the group in 1981 they changed their name to “The J. Harris Band”. After four years of playing the local club circuit in Southern California, the band separated and each family member pursued individual careers. It wasn’t until 1996, that the family re-united to reform the family band. This time it was for a cause, not just because. The family recorded “Heart & Soul” and “Flame” to create the “Memorial” CD, two songs dedicated to families that have lost a loved one to violence. They then decided to donate fifty percent of this recording to organizations that support this cause. “Heart & Soul” has been adopted by the Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation as their official memorial song in memory of Nicole.
Individual mp3 downloads of the songs from “Long Long Ago” are available at Brotherhoodrecords.com.
