Artist History
Ground Control was formed in 1995 as a metal band, by brothers Jochem
and Sander Jacobs. Though, as soon as
hardcore/punk fanatics (and cousins) Walter Poppelaars and Bart de
Jong arrived, shortly followed by rapper/vocalist Deuce da hatemale,
the style soon emerged to the musical cocktail Ground Control produces today.
Up until now, Ground Control has released 2 demotapes, called "the infamous 50 bucks tape" and "Access 2 Control"
and more recently a CD called "God Mode", which has gotten very positive reviews so far. All of their recordings
have been released by the band themselves. The CD has been released under their own label: "Rock-A-Gain records".
One month after the CD God Mode was released, Marco Roelofs, the singer of Hollands most
famous Punk-band "de Heideroosjes", arranged for them to be on the second installment
of a project called "Hollandse Herrie", a compilation Disc of various dutch underground bands, which
was released nationwide in several countries, among which: Holland, Belgium and Germany.
Ground Control has built up quite a reputation in the Southern
part of Holland, winning the popvendetta in 1996,
supporting bands like "the Brotherhood Foundation", "Travoltas", and "Right Direction" (Hollands most famous hardcoreband),
being elected for the "Breda Barst" and "Wraak van Brabant" festivals,
and more recently winning the "kleine prijs van Zundert" Contest, which
gave them the right to play at "het 1 tot 1 festival", at which the likes of "the Golden
Earring" have played.
