Artist History
Faith's a brown-skinned Filipina singer/ songwriter from Hawaii, born on Kauai a sunny Easter afternoon. Early on, she sang silly folk songs with her grandma and grew up playing piano & singing hymns at an all girls catholic school. As a teeny-bopper she fronted a locally successful pop band, APB, and released her first original on cool star-shaped vinyls on Azra International. Faith left the islands and dived into classical music & jazz gradu-ating with a BA in Music & Minor in Marketing from Cal State Long Beach. Out of school, she jumped in an RV and hit the road playing keys & singing back-up for Interscope rock/r&b artist, Xavier, opening for De La Soul, Morris Day & the Time, and Speech. Since then, she’s worked with Luther Vandross, Jon Secada, Deborah Cox, Jackie Velazquez & Sheila E. Faith’s artistry is enjoyed by listeners worldwide through the internet…thousands of downloads & charting songs as lead singer for Latin/rock band LA Carpool (www.mp3.com/lacarpool) and as a solo artist (www.mp3.com/faith). Diversity is a beautiful thing & Faith serves it up with both "passion & poise" (Performing Songwriter).Inspired by the writings of Neale Donald Walsch (author of Conversations with God), FAITHGROOVE, her latest EP, communicates a spiritual journey to a God that exists in every person and every moment. It is music that is as accessible as it is healing and refreshing in its diversity. Joined by groove-based, Eastern-inspired Malaysian songwriter/producer, Zuriani – these dark skinned beauties shine with a multi-cultural, spiritual sound that fringes on pop and crosses all musical platforms. It is nothing less than a faith groove that is empowering, invigorating, and righteous to the soul. |

Press Reviews
“Very polished contemporary R&B vocal styling. Faith is ready for radio, MTV and VH-1 with her slick crossover urban style.” LISTEN.COM by Nick Dedina ~ “Star-quality vocals...Rivera's voice is amazing, yet she's smart enough to rein in her talents just a bit, making the music even more enjoyable.” AMP3.COM by Doug Cornell ~ "Though her voice rivals those of the pop divas chirping through the airwaves these days, Faith seems to understand that empty histrionics and mind-numbing glissandos do not a soul singer make. On her debut disc, In Search of Faith, she offers up a dozen pop/r&b nuggets with both passion and poise”. PERFORMING SONGWRITER by Neil Fagan ~ "She's the singer/composer, and a talent in both capacities. Her articulate and incisive lyrics are reminiscent of Tasmin Archer and Alanis Morrisette." HONOLULU STAR BULLETIN by John Berger ~ "She wails through songs about love, loss, and self exploration that are from a more intelligent perspective than typical top 40 fair. Faith calls to mind the likes of Whitney Houston or Janet Jackson." CATALYST by J. Floyd ~ Check out all her reviews at http://faithgroove.com |
