Artist History
Started in 1998 by Dustyn Christofes and Tim Hunter, DX_M was an experiment in recording and the influence of chemical substances on music. The first cd, Entity, was largely recorded under the influence, and it's dark atmosphere and lyrics are a testament to the despair of drug abuse. Tim left to pursue other interests, and recording carried on, leaving DX_M a solo project. Recovering from Entity, Dustyn no longer had any desire to retread the same path, and focused on a more personal, human approach, spending time in the studio with Derek Wingate and Drew Miner (of Crank), creating a more diverse, honest DX_M album. After a year and a half, the resulting album was largely scrapped because the band thought it no longer represented the original ideas. Dustyn moved to Philadelphia, and took an extended break. Currently, recording has begun with new guitarist Dave Barman (formerly of Jivemind) for an EP release before the end of 2002. |
