Artist description
Dave Hahn... SingerSongwriterGuitaristTypeUnit
Some newspaper reviewers have a tendency to
classify Dave as "Country/Western" (that is usually
the ones who don't listen to Country and/or Western) Although Dave
covers a large repertoir of country songs and fits well in the Country Genre,
the CD really fits more in the "James Taylor/Cat Stevens"
Folk type of stuff.
Most people who actually listen to Country classify
Dave as "Soft Rock" or "Folk" or "Acoustic/Rock".
Dave's sound incorporates all of these styles but
is not purely any one style.

Artist History
HISTORY;
Dave was born in Chicago in '59, raised in Phoenix,
(AZ). He now resides in the intermountain west.
He can be seen most of the time around Park City, UT.
Self-taught to play guitar starting at age 8, drawing
from the playing and singing styles of artists such as;
James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Paul Simon, Gordon Lightfoot etc.
The majority of music Dave performs (Guitar/Vocals)
is Folk/Rock oriented, but he had gained a large
repertoire of Country music beginning in '89-'91
while traveling as a bass player with a Country
dance club act.
Dave has a bit of a chameleon quality to both his
Guitar and Vocal styles, which tends to make him
sound similar to the original artists when covering
their songs. Still, there is enough of a unique
quality to the performance of his own original
songs that is dynamically recognizable as an
entertaining performance style. |

Press Reviews
Website review clips about Dave Hahn
"DAVE HAHN is one of the finest singer/songwriters around, and one of the best acoustic guitarists I've ever had the pleasure to hear. Once you've heard the songs on his debut CD, entitled Dave Hahn, I think you'll agree with me."
Craig Helms…the notorious "WebOmaniac"
http://members.tripod.com/WebOmaniac/DaveHahn.htm
"To me, all of Dave's songs are really conversations, not preachy monologues, self-indulgent soliloquies, or pretentious sonnets. His songs beckon you to listen to them, to relate to them, and ultimately, to respond to the deep stirrings of your own heart."
Clifton Sanders Ph.D. A view from the inside

"The album is an eclectic mix of music. I don't think you could label it "country", but it is clearly evident that the songs - and the singer - have country in their souls... and you can, justifiably, label it 'great music'."
Cheryl Harvey Hill… 2-steppin.com

"He sings his original compositions with raw emotion and a strong well tuned voice. His acoustic guitar picking is rock solid whether doing raucous rock tunes or soft love songs. All of his songs are reflections of personal experiences, and his rugged country voice clearly tells his story."

Smooth, mellow, yet raucous in all the right places, you can't grow tired of Dave's music as his rich voice flows with it. There's nothing forced; just a stream in which you drift along with each selection."
