While still a teenager in 1980, Beki played lead guitar with the late-great blues legend, James "Yank" Rachell, author of such blues classics as "She Caught the Katy" and "Divin' Duck Blues." She has also worked with rock luminaries such as The Band's Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, John Sebastian, and folk hero, Eric Anderson.. In 1988, Beki joined Tom Pacheco for a year when he moved the band to Dublin, Ireland. While she was there, she also joined the Mary Stokes Blues Band and experienced Irish fame due to playing the Guinness Jazz Festival in Cork City and also due to a week long performanceon the National TV show, "NightHawks." In Ireland, Beki shared the stage many times with Hot House Flowers, members of U2, The Waterboys, members of Thin Lizzy, and backed up blues artists such as Carey Bell, Johnny Mars, and Fenton Robinson. In 1989, back in the U.S., Beki joined the Warner/Reprise band "Grace Pool" whom she recorded and toured withuntil 1992. In 1992, Beki moved back to Indianapolis and beganplaying with Yank Rachell again. She made two albums with her band, "Windopane," and also played with Jerry Lee Lewis off andon. In 1998, Beki moved back to Woodstock, NY where she iscurrently living and recording. For reviews, go to: http://www.bestweb.net/~beki/reviews.html |

FROM LISTEN.COM:
Beki Brindle and her band Windopane play rootsy, bluesy folk songs and also experiment with someCalifornia-influenced Country Rock. Her voice is dynamic and her singing range is more elastic than a pair of stretch-denim bootcut Levis. The slide guitar playing is tasteful and true, while unpredictable melodies tastefully clash with organic chord arrangements. The production is warm and multidimensional, sitting well with the semi-gritty tone of her voice. ----Eric S.
FROM The Music Paper-
WINDOPANE, Lucky Catatonia (CD)
Formerly known as BadKitty, Windopane--which is led by the compelling, sensual, sultry voice of Beki Brindle (also one hell of a guitarist)--has enough going for it that any major distribution would place Lucky Catatonia in the Top 20. It's packed with languid, hypnotic, loosely-chorded grooves, a la Sheryl Crow; thoughtful acoustic ruminations; and a heartbroken country shuffle interspersed with tough, biting blues-based rockers and feedback-drenched excursions into aural noise.
