Artist History Screamin' Jay Hawkins is best known for his wild antics while performing. He has been known for jumping out of coffins, and his burning skull named Henry that would never leave his side. Musically, Screamin' Jay started out in 1951 as a pianist for Tiny Grimes. Hawkins is most famous for "I Put A Spell On You," the song which gave him his name and trademark sound. Hawkins also appears in a number of motion pictures.
