    Press Reviews
Buddy Magazine, March 2000 (Through Her Eyes)This set is filled with smooth, deep-voiced country love songs and lost-love songs, just right for slow dancing with somebody warm. There's not a wrong note to this album, Dixon's third in the past 20 years or so. Neither is there anything you haven't heard before. In other words, it's radio friendly, and if it were on a major label with a lot of clout and deep pockets, it would probably be getting more airplay on middle-of-the-road country stations. Dixon grew up in Maryland, had some local success, and moved to Nashville in 1977. He had a stint in George Jones' band, and moved to Fort Worth to sing in the Billy Bob's Texas house band. He's been playing the Dallas-Fort Worth area ever since. He wrote all eleven songs on this one, including a co-write with Shannon Watkins of what may be the album's best track, "(I wouldn't feel so bad) If You Didn't Feel So Good." His lyrics come from the heart, and the supporting music is solid if never spectacular. The sentimental title track includes a couple of "I love you" lines from Dixon's young daughter, but a little corn can be good for us from time to time, as long as it's not over done. - Tom Geddie
