Press Reviews
(The Edge Magazine July 2000, Liquid-i "Waves Of Rain" by Toni) Just when you thoughtyou've heard every possible version of Tainted Love you could think of, think again! Liquid Ihas a version on this CD that is totally alternative and trance-like. I was honestly thrown backwhen I heard it. Now, it's not a bad version, it just takes a little getting use to, especially those ofyou who know and love the original 80's Soft Cell version. The rest of the songs on "Waves OfRain" feature a great mix of music and strong songwriting, making this CD a really enjoyableexperience. The vocals are clear, strong and harmonious, with a box full of catchy melodies tomake it truly memorable. With an intriguing compilation of styles by the band, it makes for aunique listen. Once you hear "Waves Of Rain," you can sense the powerful emotions that werethe inspiration for their music. It's just so hard sometimes to find a band that can truly expresswhat is going on in their lives. Like I said, this CD is different in so many ways. I personallyenjoy the slight industrial sound that runs through all these songs. When you're craving a littlebit of Collective Soul with a touch of Third Eye Blind, then Liquid I is the band for you. ### |
