This group performs a mixed bag of hard driving swing tunes, bossa novas, and ballads. The CD recordings include leader, John Paulson on tenor/soprano saxes and Bb flute supported by an acoustic rhythm section. Special guests soloists are included on each recording. These include trumpet, trombone and percussion. |

Artist History
Group leader, Dr.John Paulson has been professor of music at Saint Mary's University for the past 18 years. As director of the SMU Jazz Ensemble and combo program, he has been successful in bringing many great performers to campus to perform and do clinics with the students as well as record with Dr. Paulson. Highlights of his recording & publishing career include the release of his first CD "Blues For Erin" in 1995, a feature article and play-along CD in the Feb./March 1999 Jazz Player Magazine and 2 CD/Masterclass articles for the Saxophone Journal. |
