Press Reviews
…hailing from La Jolla, that modern age Florentine bastion of intellectual and cultural crosshybridization, DJs GWS demonstrates everything that is right about online electronic music. With members DJ Gummy, DJ Wally and DJ Sebby (thus the moniker DJs GWS), the "gooeys" are all molecular biologists by day, and arbiters of clever and snappy tunefulness by night. With influences ranging from classical artists such as Brahms, Respighi and Smetana as well as a mixing of pop artists Nelson, Hansen and The Village People, one's first impression is of breadth. These technodweeb renaissance men are spinning electronic ragas with an artful blend of hippy-chick popiness and angst-driven intensity. The "gooeys" have arrived just in time to cure cancer and make us all dance! For a particular laugh a minute bop session, check out "In The Stix", "Armageddon", "Foosgasm", and the original version of "Degage." Keep an eye on these guys…Stan Keyfanger (stankeyfanger@hotmail.com), Electronic Music Online |
