Press Reviews 5/31/2000 - Thengore of Industrial Radio http://industrialradio.tsx.org Definitely something unique! Not your standard run-of-the-mill sample this, kick that industrial. Defective Unit is more attuned to an Ambient/Experimental form of Industrial although the track "Pots & Pans" is obviously heavily influenced by the likes of Einstürzende Neubauten. Defective Unit also has a bit of the Cyber sound I love so much. Not many artists have tried to combine these musical styles nor does it in such a clear way as Defective Unit. If you like music that sounds like it could be the Cyber soundtrack for your Industrial dreams, as made clear by "Seyelents Is", then this for you! Look for both of these tracks on our playlist. Defective Unit is Meagan Watkins. It's refreshing to have a female perspective on the Industrial genre. Originally recording under the name Mourne, Meagan changed the name to Defective Unit for lack of a better name (she claims). She also works under the name Defect for more Minimal/Electronic/Experimental/Noise.
