SMOLDERING ICE! -- DD is an extremely versatile singer. What does she sound like? A little bit of Tina Turner mixed with Gladys Knight with perhaps a smidge of Patti Labelle and Toni Braxton...a unique blend of passion and soul...smoldering ice. She is honored to have shared the stage with icons of the entertainment world who also praised her talent: -- "...keeps the audience in the palm of her hand!" (Sammy Davis Jr.) -- "...she sings from her soul." (Bill Medley, The Righteous Brothers) -- "...DD shines!" (B.J. Thomas) -- "...she sings sweet as a hummingbird. She takes the stage and makes it her own." (Little Anthony of The Imperials) -- "...she's great! A real talent." (Ben E. King) -- "...dynamite performer!!" (Joe Sample) -- "...one of the most talented singers I've ever heard..Sensational!" (Sonny Turner) -- "...an outstanding talent. One of the best singers I've heard in a long time! (Herb Reed, The Platters). -- In addition, DD has performed with Frank Sinatra Jr., Bob Marley and The Wailers, and Peter Tosh. |

Artist History
SIZZLING! -- DD was born to sing in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Wichita, Kansas. Her mother was a popular blues singer who trvelled throughout Europe and instilled in her daughter a love of music and a dream of someday performing. DD realized the dream at an early age when at 13 she took to the stage starring in a musical at the old McCoran Playhouse in Los Angeles. She was hooked; destined to please an audience. DD honed her skills by taking voice, acting and dance lessons. She performed in nightclubs with her own band, graduated to television work (you've heard her voice singing the "Candid Camera" theme, the soundtracks for hit TV series "Fame" and the televised "Valentino Awards") and went on to sing with some of the legendary performers of our time. DD also starred in the hit Broadway show, "Jerry's Girls," where she received rave reviews. |
