    Artist description
Cold Hand Of Christ’s brand of metal has been compared to "Faith No More on speed" by tourdates.com. Punishing guitar riffs and a pounding rhythm section combined with Jones' vocal style that has been described as "a cross between Max Cavalera and Phil Anselmo." [The Gauntlet] make up the sound that is Cold Hand Of Christ.

    Artist History
Vocalist Reverend Jim Jones, drummer Mike LeMasters, and bassist Beck Bailey formed Cold Hand Of Christ in 1997. In 1998, they released a demo that was well received by college radio and frequently charted on CMJ. Soon after that, Cold Hand Of Christ was sharing the stage in support of acts such as Fear Factory, System Of A Down, (hed), Clutch, and Nothingface. In 1999, Matt Sugerik was brought on board as guitarist and the band set their sites on recording their first full-length release. That CD became my little ocean and has created quite a buzz around Cleveland since its October 2000 debut.

Fuckin Heavy! That's the best way to describe this four piece band out of Ohio. Their latest release entitled "My Little Ocean" is a 13 track CD full of agression and elements that give them a dark sound. One of these elements is the vocals, which sound like a blend of Phil Anselmo (Pantera) and Rob Flynn (Machine Head). The music hits with a force that is strong enough to put you on your knees and its doesn't give you a chance to get up either. One thing that characterizes the music is the religious samples at the beginning of some of the songs. I like this effect but I think that it is a little bit overused on this CD. They are all good samples and fit perfectly, but in my opinion there are just too many songs on the album that begin that way, which takes away from the overall creativeness of the CD. I would suggest maybe try placing the samples in the middle of some of the songs. But other than that, I really don't have anything to bitch about. If you are a fan of the heavier side of things, definitely check these guys out!Visit the official website - Cold Hand Of ChristNosebleed17 Rating: 8/10
