Press Reviews
Arkkon release their new CD on Soleilmoon Recordings this month. Titled 'Rotunda', this 59 minute disc consists of 6 darkly filmic electronic soundscapes, ranging from the John Barry meets Popol Vuh ambient crossfades of track 1, to the Ligeti-esque tone clusters of track 6. Along the way we meet guest performers Lydia Lunch (voice, on a version of her 'Crimes Against Nature') and Sarah Bradshaw (of Sol Invictus) on cellos.London based founder member David Knight occasionally plays guitar and samplers with left-field rockers Shock Headed Peters, and worked extensively with Danielle Dax on several of her albums. In 1994 he recorded a live CD with Lydia Lunch, and more recently provided the soundtracks for touring shows by UK performance artists Marisa Carnesky and Michael Atavar. This is his first American release. |
