Artist History
Rev. Stephen L. Mitchell began his singing career at an early age, 14 years old. He began singingin Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a group called The Travells and then CoCo and The Lamonts. Aftergraduating from high school, he then continued his singing career overseas in various night clubsand theatrical spots. He developed his own stylein 1969-1971 while touring through Southeast Asia.After his conversion to Christianity in 1985,Rev. Stephen Mitchell began writing and arranginghis own gospel music inspired by the Holy Spirit.His recording "Thank You Jesus" won an awardfrom the Wen-Sun Talent Hunt contest. He is credited for writing, Hold On, Count On Jesus,Jump Back and Praise Him. He also is heard on his own radio show, The Living Word of Hope Evangelical Ministry at 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.each Sunday on WCXJ 1550AM in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His dream is not only to preachthe Gospel but to sing the Gospel in a travellingMinistry and bring lost souls to Christ, especially be an out reach to youth. |
