Artist History
I Started in 1997, pressed up 500 copies a single cassette entitled "Swivelin Doors" . I made mad noise in the streets and it really dug me deep into the passion of making music , and people appreciating it. From there in late 98,early 99, I released in "IN REAL LIFE" .. a beatifully marinated 13 song album. It features tracks like "Man & His Daugher" ... "Lil Boys learnin bout Life" ..."PRIMETIME" s remake of the Bob Marley classic "COULD U B LUVED" ..the smash hit which on vinyl made its way through clubs in the Lehigh Valley. Its was topped off with a dedication to my man "Rodney Robinson who passed on before its completion. In May 2000 , I was introduced to Mp3.com by a friend. The environment was amazing. I couldn't belive it. Finally a place for artists to exchange music and ideas , and most of all be heard by millions around the world. I was extremely impressed and quickly uplaoded "IN REAL LIFE" .. Due to sampling reasons and copyright issues only a little more than half of the album got accepted to be on MP3,but never the less it made a big BOOM and introduced me to thousands of people over a few months time. Mp3 really inspired me to keep it movin.. Late 2000 .. the softmore album "Its in da Blood" exploded on mp3 and held #1 Best Selling CD for almost 2 months .. . I made alot of $$$ , gained alot of new avenues , and really made a name for myself online. Tracks like "UBU" "I Live I Love it , I Spit it " .. "I Cant See it" . and "Paper n Paint" .. were selected for various features and mp3 syndicated radio shows. The emails from record companies started coming in , along with alot of other offers , but as of up-to-date no contracts have been signed. I am now in the progress of a 3rd Album "Muzicman" .. with various Mp3 producers and other local ones as well. This is gonna be something special . As they say 3 strikes and your out !!!! L Perfex |

Press Reviews
“In Real Life”” L Perfex Lyrical Perfection is the mission and full name of Allentown’s multi-talented L Perfex. This brother certainly fulfills Rakim’s assertion that “it ain’t where you’re from its where you’re at.” The self-released “In Real Life” is a tight, appealing album with just enough gloss for the blingers and an abundance of real life to please the fickle underground. L completely submerged himself into this project. He’s about to reap the rewards of his hard work. The majors have been hovering on this for a minute now but L Perfex ain’t a young buck with a lust for easy paper so he’s chillin’ and lettin’ the big boys step to him on his own terms. The album gets off to a quick start on the strength of the phat track that’s the foundation of “Paper N’ Paint.” Here we find the intersection of smooth vocals, head noddin’ funk and catchy hook that make a career. L points out that “money ain’t nuthin’ but paper and paint” for an original take on a timeless topic that produces the intended result. Another highlight is the smoooooothed out, jazzy soul of “Wish I Could Give It Back.” L Perfex spits like an emotional brother on a mission siphoned through a subtle mic effect. The other standout cut is “From Me To You” and once again conforms to L’s successful concoction of confidently riding jazzy loops. L Perfex consistently brings the funk. You can’t ask for more than that. Reviewed by Fun k Wizard Snow Editor- PhillyHipHop.com © 2001 PhillyHipHop.com "Its In Da Blood"L Perfex There's no sophomore jinx in site for L Perfex. His second effort "Its In The Blood" only serves to raise the impressive standard that he set on In Real Life. This brother is ready for prime time right now and already has his third full length album in production as I write this. Talk about a craftsman on a mission- meet A-Town's L Perfex. If commercial radio wasn't in the hip pocket of a select few major labels, "I Live It... I Love It... I Spit It" would be getting madd airplay right now. This is easily the standout cut of the album. Welcome to the politics of the music business. Welcome to PhillyHipHop.com where we operate on the fringes in the name of staying true to our culture. Its artists like L that make our mission rewarding. I'm tellin' y'all this album is tight. This effort leans more towards the likes of DMX, Jay-Z, Nas and others but before they got comfortable and lost their edge. The production, engineering and delivery is tight throughout as evidenced on tracks such as the laid back "U B U", the neo-glossy "I Can't See It" and the bouncy flow of "More Than The Game." L has a lot to say and he says it well. He's a storyteller with funky tales to tell. "Murderin'" raps up "Its In The Blood" as a satisfying swan song. As on the rest of the album, its ready for prime time material. As I've said in the past, L Perfex is a volcano that's about to blow....like Kurtis.
