    Artist description
From the descriptions of his fans, you'd think Jonathan fronted a punk or arena rock band. Still, in spite of his highly energetic and playful performances, his personal musical style remains true to the nature of Irish folk songs. Not one to weep into a beer very long, Jonathan guides his audiences from warm ballads to rebel songs, then on to pint-banging pub songs. Soon, everyone is grabbing an empty glass and joining the percussion.

    Artist History
Jonathan's love for music began early, from the singing and playing of his grandad and family. He took up the guitar and played with several folk, rock, blues, and jazz groups. In 1993, he narrowed his focus to Irish music, joining Maid in the Myddle, then helping start the group Bully Ruse. In 1996, he began performing solo at several regional Irish music venues, including Harling's Upstairs in Kansas City. His new self-titled CD of Irish songs bears witness to Jonathan's musical background. Packed with pub songs, rebel songs, and love songs, he performed these "live in studio" to capture the impact of the music. Jonathan plays live across the U.S. and Canada, and Thursday nights at Harling's Upstairs in Kansas City.

    Press Reviews
"Each track sounds so 'real' as if Jonathan is just in front of you. Familiar songs, yes, but Jonathan does not do 'covers'. All the songs sound as if they are his own and coming from his own heart and passions. Jonathan is a master of Irish pub favorites,is a great bawdy story telling entertainer, and is a stunning musician. His CD title 'Rough Night' is a great title for what he does as Jonathan puts every ounce he can give into what he does." - Celtic Ways "Jonathan knows how to do it to it!" Pat O'Connell - Celtic Crossings "The Night Paddy Murphy Died - I appreciate the storyteller. Takes a unique artist to bring out such a tale, solo!" - Larry Neil
